“I want to do good. I want the world to be better because I was here.”

…That’s my favorite quote from this compilation. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I have.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset

17 09 2009

An entrepreneurial mindset is described by a conglomerate of meta-physical dispositions, also known as entrepreneurial spirit, meant to cause the innovative and energetic practice to identify or create an opportunity and take action aimed at realizing it. The philosophical themes – existentialism, axiology, pragmatism, ethics – are thereby understood to be strange attractors influencing the construction of the entity’s persona as well as the concrete practices of the entity (Figure 1).

Figure 1:Conceptual Model of Philosophical Components of an Entrepreneurial Mindset (Senges 2007)

Composite Mindset Philosophy

Important for entrepreneurship is the “creative mindset” (Faltin, 2007) that helps entrepreneurs to create new ideas and bring these to the market in a way appropriate to create value for an external audience. Psychological research highlights that true creativity comes not from the kind of area in which one is active but whether one can conceive of something that is both “new and appropriate” (Amabile, 1996). In this way, a entrepreneurial mindset is a philosophy by which individuals engage in creative acts regardless of the type of work they are engaged in. Thus, the entrepreneurial mindset might exist in cooking just as well as web-2 innovating, it is the philosophy and the action it generate that counts – not the context.

This can be contrasted to a “managerial mindset” which deals with creating order and efficiency through controlling, evaluating, and administrating practices (Sarasvathy, Simon and Lave, 1998). An entrepreneurial mindset is distinct from ‘entrepreneurial cognitions’ in that the former signify a philosophy of personal identity and values whereas the latter signify a group of heuristics or decision-making tools that entrepreneurs use to evaluate and exploit business opportunities. An entrepreneurial mindset is also distinct from Entrepreneurial orientation (EO) which is a collective identity in young entrepreneurial firms that fosters innovativeness, pro-activeness and risk-taking among participants in the firm (Lumpkin and Dess, 1996).

The philosophic codification of the mindset of an entrepreneur follows what Durkheim felt to be the achievement of modernity: “The possibility to dynamically differentiate and elaborate values” (Welsch, 1998). Thereby, as is customary in life-philosophy, the creative and initiative aspects meant to create meaning are given central stage in a holistic (or totalitarian) approach. Peter Sloterdijk elaborates on the role of philosophy : “Philosophy is stylizing the human being with the practice of terminological gene-technology (‘begrifflicher gentechnologie’), thereby developing new taxonomies of human existence” (Sloterdijk, 1999). He further explains that philosophy creates meta-physical concepts of human beings and their condition, which serve as archetypical development paradigms when perceived and internalized. One example given by Sloterdijk, is Freud’s creation, or the meta-physical engineering of the Oedipus complex. The proposed philosophical model of an entrepreneurial mindset is meant to contribute such a typology.

Here’s To The “Crazy” Ones

17 09 2009

“Here’s to the Crazy Ones! The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas & see a work of art? Or, sit in silence & hear a song that’s never been written? Or, gaze at a red planet & see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kinds of people. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Paul Potts, Cell Phone Warehouse MGR …Becoming Who He Was Born To Be.

19 01 2009

I am a firm believer in the capacity of mankind to do, be or become anything their hearts desire.

Of course, there are principles of belief in oneself and the power of positive thinking that must be applied, but every single human-being has the capacity and ability to apply them.

I just wanted to share this short clip about the cell
phone warehouse manager/opera singer Paul Potts.

This is very inspiring!!

Here’s To Creating A LIFE – NOT Just A Living.

…To Living YOUR Life ON PURPOSE.

Goals Vs. Intentions

13 01 2009

I was recently reviewing my goals a couple days ago from when I first got involved in Network Marketing; when I realized how confusing the concept of goal setting can be.  And, possibly why so few people achieve their “goals.”
When I first got involved Network Marketing, I was taught to set monthly, yearly, 5 year, etc. income goals; how many people I would sponsor each month; how many leaders I would develop, how much volume my group would produce, etc.

What?!?!

To be honest, this always baffled me. I would sit with a blank piece of paper, and wonder why I just wasn’t “getting it.”

Sure, I could think up some arbitrary numbers, but without a clear road map or idea of how I was going to get there, I would quickly wad up the page and turn on the TV. (Well, not quite, but almost!)

Once I was taught and mastered the art of setting “intentions”, and being very clear about what I needed to do each day in my business, things REALLY changed, and for the better!

Take responsibility and control.

Setting intentions is really more about taking responsibility and control for the actions that YOU CAN and WILL complete.

To say one wants to earn $10,000 a month by the end of year one is great, but since Network Marketing is a volunteer army, one is depending on some other people to hold up their end of the rep agreement! Unless you can work 24/7 and never sleep!

Make small steps DAILY.

But, to focus on simple, daily action steps such as – contacting 5 people a day about the business (this can be done in person, over the phone, through email, via a website, a leads program, etc), 5 days a week; making 5 follow up phone calls or emails from the contacts you create; and taking other various steps to build ones business (Networking via message forum postings, social networking, sharing samples of the product with people everywhere you go, running an ad in your local paper, attending company events in your local area, submitting articles for ezines, hosting your own local opportunity meeting, publishing an ezine, etc. – now that’s the kind of “goal setting” that can create what one is REALLY looking for.

So, make your “business plan and goals sheet” about setting your intentions for each day, week, month and year, and then COMMIT to those intentions.

Follow through and DO IT.

Don’t look back for 90 days, and commit those 90 days to solid intentions each and every day!

Be sure you set realistic intentions, too. Set yourself up for success with smaller numbers and smaller steps and then get them done. As you begin to feel more comfortable with the process, then you can begin to take bigger steps and set bigger intentions.

Align your attitude.

Make sure your attitude is aligned with your intentions. Don’t miss this key point.

If you intend to contact 5 potential prospects today, or share 5 samples of the product with 5 different people, make sure you are in a “Feel good” place to do so.

If you just had a fight with your boss, your teenager, your spouse, etc., you may want to postpone those promotions until you can get your energy in the place it needs to be. We are vibrational creatures and those we interact with pick up on ALL of our vibes, both good and bad.

Before you zip off that email or pick up the phone, close your eyes for 30 seconds and “play pretend!” “See” before you, exactly the outcome that you desire from those contacts. “Feel” the way you’ll feel when you accomplish your goal! Combine the two for a “billion dollar vibration” sure to attract exactly what you are looking for.

Be appreciative for each experience and how you can grow from it.

Each day, before you begin, spend some time reviewing your daily intentions. Write them down. Then get clear on your expected results, and finally… EXPECT those results to show up!

Belief is a POWERFUL thing and with it, all things are possible.  We all believe something. Make sure you check what that belief is!

INTEND for this year to be your best year ever, and then EXPECT it! Keep your focus there and watch amazing things happen!

Are You FREE or Only Seem To Be?

20 02 2006

Take the short questionnaire and discover how YOU CAN BE … with just a few hours of your flexible time each week, and within a relatively short amount of time!

  • Do you have multiple streams of income flowing into your life?
  • Do you get paid multiple times for every hour you work?
  • Are your hourly earnings potentially unlimited?
  • Do your income streams flow 24 hours a day with or without you?
  • Do you own or control these streams of income?
  • Will your income streams continue to flow after you die?
  • Can you give yourself a raise any time you want?
  • If your main income stream dries up, could you survive for a year without income?

If you answered no to any one of these questions, we can help solve that once and for all!

There might just be a “PLAN B” you may not have known even existed … UNTIL NOW.

I’m serious, if you don’t feel the freedom of life that you believe you and your family truly deserve, then let’s do something about it now … before it is too late!

Let me ask you … Would you donate a few hours of your time each week to your future happiness? Would you CHOOSE to do something about your current cirvumstances if you’re not quite satisfied with the way things are in your life right now?

Do you ever find yourself thinking … “If I could just find a better way” … “I know there has got to be a better way?”

Well I’m here to tell you there IS a better way! There IS a “Plan B” and it is closer than you think!

Let me ask you this… If you knew you could legitimately be earning $2,000 to $3,000 a week and within a relatively short amount of time; would that affect your life, your family life, or maybe your time-freedom for the better?

If your answer is “yes,” then contact me right away at 864-610-0376 and let’s discuss the possibilities of life without limits.

If your answer is “no,” then I wish you well.  Continue doing what you’ve always done.
The choice is your’s, but remember… YOU ALWAYS DO HAVE A CHOICE.
